About

Project Car is being built for people who actually wrench — not for people who only want a parking stall with a cool logo on the door. This page walks through why the project exists, who it's meant for, and how the shop, tools, mentorship, parts flow, and software stack together into one offer.

The problem we're solving

Most project cars die in the gap between ambition and logistics. You can watch every how-to video online and still lose months to the wrong sequence of work, missing specialty tools, waiting on parts, or realizing your driveway isn't a fabrication shop. Home garages hit hard limits: hoist access, ventilation, dust control, and simply having the right equipment when a job turns ugly at 9 p.m.

Traditional shops solve some of that — if you're paying someone else to do everything. That works for some cars. It doesn't work for builders who want ownership of the craft, the budget, and the learning. Storage units and bare-bones bays solve floor space and little else — you're still alone with incomplete tooling and nowhere to sanity-check a plan.

Project Car sits in the middle: a real shop environment members can use on builder schedules, with shared capability and a community that treats project cars as normal — not as a nuisance.

Who it's for

Builders restoring, modifying, fabricating, or finishing project vehicles. People who want hands-on mechanical, electrical, and metal work — with room to leave a project staged properly between sessions. Also for competent wrenchers who still want mentorship on the parts of a build they haven't done a dozen times, and ambitious DIYers ready for shop standards rather than weekend curiosity.

It is not aimed at long-term dead storage, unsupervised chaos, or a full-service dealership that happens to have members hanging around. Active projects and respectful use of shared space are the bar.

How the pieces fit together

A membership only makes sense if the offer is bigger than keys to a room. The model stacks several layers so members spend more time building and less time fighting infrastructure.

Space that works like a shop

Individual work bays with 2-post hoists, room to stage a tear-down without living in your kitchen, and hours that match real life — including evenings and weekends when operational. Details and availability come on the Shop page.

Tools beyond a home garage

Shared fabrication and shop equipment so members aren't buying a full industrial kit for one build. Bay-side basics plus shared specialty capability when the job needs more than hand tools.

Planning & mentorship

Second opinions before expensive mistakes. Guidance on sequence, tooling choice, and "see you next time so the job keeps moving" — without taking the build away from you.

Community that understands the car

People who have lived half-finished engines, wiring looms, and fabrication rabbit holes. Expertise shows up when builders share a floor and a standard of care.

The full member experience

Beyond wrenching space, membership also covers parts coordination and a digital layer that keeps the shop legible as it grows. Those details live on their own pages so this page could stay focused on the "why":

Where we're headed

Project Car is underway: public site foundation, early community assistance, and a clear shop concept centered on real project vehicles. Physical build-out, membership packaging, parts operations, and deeper member app features arrive in stages — shaped by real interest and feedback rather than a fixed launch date. See Roadmap for what's live versus still ahead.

What we're not promising (yet)

Honesty matters while we're in early build. We aren't claiming a finished multi-bay facility with every feature online, open memberships with locked pricing, or a parts warehouse on day one. We're not a pure storage business, and shop standards support builders — they don't erase responsibility. If something isn't live, we'll say so. Fake open dates and fake price lists help no one.

Get involved

If this sounds like the shop you've wanted — or you have sharp feedback on what would make it worth it — say so. Early interest helps size bays, tools, parts flow, and membership so the first version serves real builders.

Or Contact, Discord, or email for questions and feedback while we stand things up.
